Jamaican Writer and Poet Claude McKay The Black Plaque Podcast is an original podcast series, celebrating stories of black historical figures in London, as part of the Black Plaque Project. In this episode, Dr Jak speaks to Kwame Kwei-Armah, the Artistic Director of the Young Vic Theatre in London. Kwame’s chosen historical figure is Jamaican writer and poet, Claude McKay was a central figure in the Harlem Renaissance, and his work heavily influenced a generation of black authors including James Baldwin and Richard Wright.
