Lainie has made Kate Cocks the star of her new Historical fiction murder mystery novel, the Death of Dora Black. Kate Cocks, was the first policewoman in the British empire employed on the same salary as men and given the same powers of arrest as her male counterparts. The real Kate Cocks forced abusive husbands onto their knees to repent and recite the lord’s prayer and her team were jujitsu experts.
