EP 51 - Stigma and Healthcare Workers

Listen on

Episode notes

This is World AIDS Day 2024. The theme for this year is "It starts with me", showing that we all have a role to play in reducing HIV related stigma. Stigma reduction has become an increasingly important part of the NSW HIV strategy. Though what is it and what can we do about it? To discuss the research into the detrimental effects of stigma, I am joined by Dr Timothy Broady. He is a senior research fellow from UNSW's Centre for Social Research in Health. This podcast discusses stigma broadly, but mainly focuses on HIV related stigma among healthcare workers.
